VETERANS’ SERVICE OFFICER  for Sullivan County Veterans’ Service Agency.   Performs public contact and guidance to veterans and their dependents advising of the rights and benefits to which they are entitled under the law.  Responsibilities include providing  assistance in the preparation and filing of benefit claims and advocating for veterans at the VA Medical Centers. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of the Veterans’ Service Agency. Candidates must be an honorably discharged veteran and possess either:

A)

BS degree or Higher in Business or Public Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Planning or a related field and two (2) years of acceptable experience in identifying and writing grants for the public and/or private sector; or
B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school diploma and four (4) years experience as described in A) above; or
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A) and B) above.
NOTE:  Candidate must possess and maintain a valid appropriate class driver’s license.

Entry rate $38,046.        After 6 months $40,048.

GRANT WRITER for Sullivan County Grants Administration:  Responsibilities involve researching, identifying and developing grant applications for County departments, including writing grants and assisting others in preparing grant proposals.  Work is performed under the supervision of the Grants Administration Supervisor.  Candidates must possess either:

Public Health Nurse - This is a professional nursing position responsible for providing nursing assessment and education to clients in the community, public health clinic setting and in the home setting.  Incumbent assists in providing guidance to Community Health Nurses (Public Health) and Registered Professional Nurses Licensure and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university and two (2) years clinical experience in home care, acute care or a field related to public/community health.

Registered Nurses - are needed to do home care, clinics, maternal child health, and public health programs.  We prefer nurses who are experienced, flexible and highly organized to further our mission of protecting and promoting the health of Sullivan County residents.  You must have a minimum of a registered nurse licensure in New York State, with experience in public health, acute care and/or home care desired.
