Solid Waste & Recycling   

 

The Division of Solid Waste manages Sullivan County's solid waste disposal program, including the county landfill and materials recovery facility in Monticello, along with five (5) recycling / transfer stations throughout the county.  Sullivan County does not handle waste hauling, nor does the county recommend waste haulers.

Why Clear Bags?


Sullivan County Beautification Programs —
The Division of Solid Waste supports Sullivan County Beautification Programs by providing free roadside trash disposal for civic efforts, including:

  • Adopt-A-Road (requires town notification to the county as a program prerequisite), and
  • LitterPluck, an annual event sponsored by  Sullivan County, the Division of Solid Waste and community groups.
