(Jeffersonville) – County Manager David P Fanslau has announced that the Sullivan County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will hold three public hearings on the Municipal Agriculture and Farmland Protection Plans, pursuant to Article 25-AAA of the Agriculture and Markets Law.
These three hearings will take place on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 at the Town of Callicoon Town Hall, 19 Legion Street, Jeffersonville, New York, at which time all interested parties will be given an opportunity to be heard. The public hearing for the Town of Bethel’s Plan will take place at 7:30 pm, the public hearing for the Town of Delaware’s Plan will take place at 8:00 pm, and the public hearing for the Town of Callicoon’s Plan will take place at 8:30 pm.
The plans advocate for a variety of economic, educational, governmental, regulatory and other actions that the Towns can take to protect farms and farmland, and promote agriculture as a critical part of local life.
